The Law of Karma
Is the Law of Life

You don't actually have to believe in rebirth to accept the reality of the Law of Karma.  It is simply the Law of Cause & Effect and as such also operates in this present life right now.  The Law of Cause & Effect is nothing other than a scientific fact.

It is also known in biblical language as the Law of Sowing & Reaping.  Whatever we sow, that is what we shall reap in exact and precise measure.

I read a book by a Success teacher recently who stated that Success is actually far easier to achieve than failure.

Most of us might venture to differ.  However, what he meant was that we succeed in whatever we fill our minds with.  If we fill them with an optimistic, positive focus on where we are going with specific goals and dreams, and work towards these unswervingly, we must eventually succeed in this.  If we fill our minds with negative self-talk, accusations, endless speculation on why the world treats us so badly, and have no goals, then we succeed in manifesting what our minds are full of.  In this case, we manifest defeat, sorrow and frustration.

So we succeed in whatever our minds are full of.  Interestingly, our minds are actually so powerful that whatever we direct them to, they will attract from the universe and manifest in our lives.

This is Karma - Cause and Effect.  At some level, we attract into our lives the circumstances that surround us.

This is why it is so vital to control our minds and take charge of our self-talk.  Since there is such a precise relation between thought and manifestation, we must take charge of our thought world, bit by bit. It may be a tall order, but it is the only way to begin to manifest Success, in the broadest definition of the term, into our lives.

In this way, we create a positive spiral leading ever higher. If we let events impact us and negatively affect our minds, we only increase the negative mental spiral that will tend to attract even more such calamities upon us.  It all begins with our minds.

So let us pledge to take charge of our minds today and focus upon sowing good seed so that we shall reap accordingly.

Yes, life can be mysterious and confusing--but there's much of life that's actually rather dependable and reliable.  Some principles apply to life in so many different contexts that they can truly be called universal--and learning what they are and how to approach them and use them can teach us some of the most important lessons that we've ever learned.
My doctorate is in Teaching and Learning.  I use it a lot when I teach at school, but I also do my best to apply what I've learned to the life I'm living, and to observe how others live their lives.  What makes them happy or unhappy, stressed or peaceful, selfish or generous, compassionate or arrogant?  In this book, I've done my best to pass on to you what I've learned from people in my life, writers whose works I've read, and stories that I've heard.  Perhaps these principles can be a positive part of your life, too!
Universal Principles of Living Life Fully.  Awareness of these principles can explain a lot and take much of the frustration out of the lives we lead.
