I
want to know what passion is.
I want to feel something strongly.
Aldous Huxley

Passion
doesn't come from business or books or even a connection with
another person. It is a connection to your own life force, the
world around you and the spirit that connects us all. You are
the source. Books, work, music, people, sunsets all provide
sparks, but only you can light the fire.
Jennifer James
Success Is the Quality of Your Journey

Passion is the love of turning being into
action. It fuels the engine of
creation. It changes concepts to experience. . . Never
deny passion, for
that is to deny Who You Are, and Who You Truly Want To Be.
Neale
Donald Walsch |

Many
of us are afraid to follow our passions, to pursue what we want
most because it means taking risks and even facing failure.
But to pursue
your passion with all your heart and soul is success in
itself. The greatest
failure in the world is to have never really tried.

Passion,
it lies in all of us, sleeping. . . waiting. . . and
though unwanted, unbidden. It will stir, open its
jaws and howl. It speaks to us, guides us; passion
rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we
have? Passion is the source of our finest
moments. The joy of love, the clarity of hatred, and
the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than
we can bear. If we could live without passion maybe
we’d know some kind of peace, but we would be hollow. .
. Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we’d
be truly dead.
Joss Whedon

There
is no greatness without a passion to be great,
whether it’s the aspiration of an athlete or an artist,
a scientist, a parent, or a businessperson.
Anthony Robbins

If
there is no passion in
your life, then have you
really lived? Find your
passion, whatever it may be.
Become it, and let it become
you and you will find great
things happen FOR you, TO
you and BECAUSE of you.
T. Alan Armstrong

The
saddest people I've ever met in life are the ones who don't care
deeply about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in
hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary,
because there's nothing to make it last.
Nicholas Sparks

Passion has overthrown tyrants
and freed prisoners and slaves.
Passion has brought justice where there was savagery. Passion
has created freedom where there was nothing but fear. Passion
has helped souls rise from the ashes of their horrible lives
and build something better, stronger, more beautiful.
Jim Butcher

Our

We all need to
look into the dark side of our nature--that's where
the energy is, the passion. People are afraid of that because
it holds pieces of us we're busy denying.

Passion
makes a person stop eating, sleeping, working, feeling at
peace. A lot of people are frightened because, when it
appears, it demolishes all the old things it finds in its
path.
No one wants their life thrown into chaos. That is why
a lot of people keep that threat under control, and are
somehow capable of sustaining a house or a structure that is
already rotten. They are the engineers of the
superseded.
Other people think exactly the opposite: they
surrender themselves without a second thought, hoping to
find in passion the solutions to all their problems.
They make the other person responsible for their happiness
and blame them for their possible unhappiness. They
are either euphoric because something marvelous has happened
or depressed because something unexpected has just ruined
everything.
Keeping passion at bay or surrendering blindly to it--which
of these two attitudes is the least destructive?
I don't know.
Paulo Coelho

By
passion I don't mean sex or desire. I don't mean what happens
to you when you wear Obsession, drive a Porsche Carrera, weigh
ninety-six pounds, and are lusted after by someone with a deep
cleft in his chin. I mean the natural life energy that exists
inside
each of us, urging growth. A deep and natural pulse that tells
us
to live from the inside out, to reach in and reach out for all that
is
possible to know, to contribute, and to receive. I may have
lost
the feeling of it right now, but I am beginning to think passion
exists in the relationship between things, between the self and the
rest of life, between forces in opposition to each other, between
polarities and paradoxes, between and beyond the river of
either/or that seems to divide so much of our world.
Dawna Markova

Find the
passion. It takes great passion and great energy to do
anything
creative. I would go so far as to say you can't do it without
that passion.

Passion
is power. On the color spectrum from faint interest to rabid
obsession, it is toward the red end of the continuum. Passion
is
accompanied by the sound of primal yahoos, castanets in the heart,
the
beating of wings. It is the natural exudation of love, any
kind of love,
and spills from us like heat from a fire. Passion is the
smelling salts
of the soul. Passion's message is the same one that love
brings: follow.
Passion is what we are most deeply curious about, most hungry for,
will
most hate to lose in life. It is the most desperate wish we
need to yell
down the well of our lives. It is whatever we pursue merely
for its own
sake, what we study when there are no tests to take, what we create
though no one may ever see it. It makes us forget that the sun
rose and
set, that we have bodily functions and personal relations that could
use
a little tending. It is what we'd do if we weren't worried
about
consequences, about money, about making everyone happy but
ourselves.
It is whatever we could be tempted to sell our souls for in order to
have
a hundred extra years just to devote to it, whatever fills us with
the
feeling poet Anne Sexton was referring to when she said that,
"when
I'm writing, I know I'm doing the thing I was born to do."
It is what matters most, whether we're doing it or not.
Gregg Levoy

What is
passion? It is surely the becoming of a person.
John Boorman |
|
Your purpose in life is intrinsically connected to your passion, and
your passion is present right where you stand. While you might argue,
“I have no passion,” or “I don’t know what my passion is,” you do
have passion—if you didn’t, you wouldn’t be alive. While part of you
may have lost touch with your passion, another part knows precisely
where it lives. Ask the part of you that knows your path and purpose
to reveal itself, and it will. If you try to grasp the Big Picture of your
entire life’s purpose, you will get muddled and confused. If you demand
to know it all now, you will become even more overwhelmed. But if you
start by acting on the passion that already exists, even if it is the tiniest
of trickles, it will expand to a stream and then a mighty river.
Alan Cohen
